About the Competition
YDC Dare To Change Business Pitch Competition offers all tertiary students in Hong Kong a chance to step out of their comfort zone and conduct a five-minute pitch of their business ideas in front of seasoned executives.
All participants will be given instant feedbacks by seasoned executives, as well as certifies of participation as encouragement. Finalists will also receive one-to-one guidance from business professionals with subsidies as a start-up fund. Not only will they have an opportunity to execute their business ideas in an office offered by the HKSTP on a free rental basis, winning teams will also be recommended to regional contests.
Various sorts of networking events will be held with the aim to let all the participants have the opportunity to know more about updated and related information of the business realm through potential investors and seasoned professionals.
Competition Format
In the preliminary round, each participating team will have 5 minutes for conducting their entire presentation in any form in front of the judging panel. The presentation will be immediately followed by a 10-minute Q & A session with the judging panel. 8-12 teams will be selected to progress to the final round and is paired with a seasoned entrepreneur or a mentor from the respective industry, who will provide adequate support and professional advice throughout the entire preparatory road to the final.
The finalists will also have a 5-minute presentation and 10-minute Q & A session with the final judging panel. All results of the competition will be announced at the Award Presentation Ceremony in June every year.
Eligibility and Entry Criteria
YDC Dare To Change Business Pitch Competition is open to all current students studying full-time in tertiary education institutes in Hong Kong and the 2019 graduates.
Participating teams must consist of 1 to 4 member(s). Each team may draw members from different faculties or institutes. Team members are not allowed to join more than 1 team.
All registered teams will be invited to the preliminary round.
Each team should nominate a team leader to be responsible for keeping the team’s information. The team leader will also be the point-of-contact with the Youth Development Council or the organizer.
Participants having received prior investment from any investors of more than HK$1,000,000 before the competition, or groups which have established and or operated for more than 3 years in business forms are NOT allowed to join the competition.

Awardees of HKSTPC Technopreneur Awards can be referred to the admission into the HKSTPC Incubation Programme.
3. HKSTPC Techno Idea Award: HK$10,000
4. The 10 Finalist Teams will be awarded to join a Shenzhen Tour
Competition format and judging criteria will be introduced in this session. All registered teams must send respective representatives to attend the session.

The presentation will be immediately followed by a 10-minute Q & A session with the judging panel. 10 teams will be selected to progress to the final round.
The networking events give you direct exposure to the industry experts, investment professionals, venture capitalists as well as angel investors that could make or break your venture dreams. Successful entrepreneurs need to not only walk the walk, but talk the talk too! Make sure you take full advantage of these opportunities that will put you a step closer to realizing your dreams.
