Starting from nine companies and schools participating in the first program in 2002 and being sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust since 2007, the School-Company-Parent (SCP) Program helps secondary students to connect to the commercial world and acquire an entrepreneurial mindset; it also enhances parents’ understanding of and communications with their children. Through participation in the program, companies play a part in the education of the future workforce. Over 810 pairs of school and company partnership have formed, benefitting over 26,000 students.
The new Young Entrepreneurs Development Council School-Company-Parent Program – Jockey Club InnoMind® commenced in September, 2017. The program adds on the existing SCP Program by introducing STEM ESSENCE, i.e. qualities such as: curiosity, observatory, attention to details, creativity and persistence, students acquire through engaging in InnoMind® competition and related activities. The program also extends its service to primary schools and young employees.
The workshops are conducted at school or outside classroom by Company Ambassadors for guiding students to plan their own lives and career step by step.
To offer students a valuable chance to showcase their creativity and business ideas in front of seasoned executives.
To provide information of the program to all secondary schools in Hong Kong. Participated teachers and Company Ambassadors will share their experience with the interested schools.
YDC believes that there are still plenty of companies out there which are enthusiastic in giving a hand to the Hong Kong’s next generation. New companies are invited to attend the briefing and receive general information of the program.
To equip the Company Ambassadors with the relevant skill sets and attitudes to conduct student workshops.
It is an annual joyful event to celebrate the achievements of all participants and show our appreciation to the support and effort from Company Ambassadors, principals, teachers and students. Students can also have the opportunity to be an organizing committee and Master of Ceremony.
The program requires support from all companies and organizations. Company Ambassadors acting as students’ mentor to connect with the commercial world is the key in the program. It is also a cost-effective training platform for employees and a valuable opportunity to give back to the society and to keep abreast with the teenager market.
This program is free for schools to join. One school will be matched with one company. With the guidance from Company Ambassadors, the program helps secondary students to connect to the commercial world and acquire an "InnoMind®" to think creatively; it also enhances parents' understanding of and communications with their children.
