YDC Entrepreneurial Workshop - Practising Leadership in your Life:

With our objective of promoting entrepreneurial development, the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council (YDC) is particularly keen to support programs that facilitate and enhance the entrepreneurial and leadership skills amongst students and other young people. Towards this end, we have led a number of initiatives targeting students, among which the YDC Entrepreneurial Workshop is one of our most popular programs.

What is the YDC Entrepreneurial Workshop?

YDC Entrepreneurial Workshop is an interactive and lively forum for YDC role models to exchange ideas and advice with students motivated to develop their leadership skills. It is an effective vehicle for promoting enthusiasm and energy amongst students. These workshops have been very well received from student groups. They typically run about three hours, and offer students a chance to mingle and learn from some of Hong Kong's most promising entrepreneurs.

Who are the Workshop Speakers?

The Workshop Speakers are active members or directors of YDC who have been successful in their own career as entrepreneurs or heads of institutions. The Speakers were also trained in running the Workshop and leading the discussions. Each Workshop session will have Speakers who will share their experiences.

Who should attend the YDC Entrepreneurial Workshop?

The Workshop is open to university students who want to be inspired and learn from others. We welcome all first year to final year students, as well as post-graduates little work experience.

What topics do we cover in the Workshop?

Within 3 hours, you will learn the following:

• Self-enriching through knowledge and content
• Solutions versus Complaints
• Expressing commitment level
• Examples of people practicing what we discuss
• Questions & Answers with our Speaker and Presenters

What will you get out of the Workshop?

Within 3 hours, you will learn the following:

• How to build self-confidence and a sense of purpose
• What you should ask yourself in order to achieve happiness in life
• How to face competitions and challenges in your career
• How to achieve complete fulfillment in life
• A set of exercises that you can practice by yourself again and again to reinforce what you have learnt in the Workshop

What happens after the Workshop?

Each participating student is asked to write their comments and thoughts about the Workshop and e-mail to YDC within one week after attending the Workshop. The purpose is to reinforce the concepts learnt from the forum. From time to time, we also run refresher sessions and previous Workshop participants are encouraged to join the refresher session.
