YDC is happy to announce the launch of the inaugural Hong Kong Business Plan Competition (HKBP).
Backed by our success in organizing the Entrepreneurs Challenge Competition in the past 10 years (an annual business plan competition open to all full time tertiary level students in Hong Kong) and having witnessed an emergence of entrepreneurial spirit over spilling from China and our post graduates, we believe HKBP will help open up the platform to more aspired entrepreneurs-to-be. HKBP will be co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks, leading angels and venture capital networks in Hong Kong.
The competition will be divided into three phases. Based on written executive summaries submitted, thirty-eight potential business proposals will be selected to enter the Semi-Final Round. Selected teams will be required to submit an investment proposal/teaser and a 5-minute DVD presentation to the panel of Semi-Final judges, where eight Finalist teams will be selected to enter the Final Round. Once these eight teams are picked, they will be matched with eight very experienced mentors, most of them are current PE/VC partners or successful entrepreneurs, who will provide feedback and advice to help sharpen the teams' proposals (plan content, business model, presentation) so they can be ready for the final presentation in front of the Final Round judges. Four training workshops will be offered to all participants who have registered for the competition to help sharpen their business plans write-up and presentation skills. Our judges will give feedback to the teams during the Q&A session on how their business plans can be improved and further developed.
Our Final Round judges will consist of representatives from the leading PE and VC funds as well as active angel investors. We will also invite select qualified investors to be present at the Final Round presentation to provide the biggest platform for our Finalist teams so they can present their exciting business ideas in front of as many potential investors as possible. Most importantly, we hope to see some of the final contestants and winners to get funding from our pool of investors.
To all future potential Facebook and Baidu entrepreneurs of Hong Kong, we hope to see you at this competition! |
